GET FRESH this winter with crisp winter salads, making champions of bitter leaves, nuts, citrus fruits and wonderful winter vegetables.

Personally I like to slow things down in my kitchen during winter. I get my slow cooker out. I love to roast and bake for maximum cosiness. I make hearty pies and comforting healthy soups. This type of food will warm you from head to toe.

Winter tip:
As the temperature drops you need extra calories to keep you warm. Eat nutritious food to boost your immunity but avoid consuming extra calories.

Pumpkins are labelled as vegetables but they contain seeds and are technically fruit.
